Countdown to the submission deadline

Contemporary Architects Association of Iran based on their vision to enhance the power of “experientialism” in architectural design, organizes the Red event.

Red is not in pursuit of flawless results, but a non-competition in praise of bold creativity and in search of experimentation and research in architectural design.

The values of red on this path are research and the courage to take action and not fear mistakes in completed projects or projects ready for construction *.
* Explanation: A ready-to-build project from a red perspective is a project that has tested its experiential and creative aspect in direct relationship with reality and has considered its real conditions and limitations.

Evaluation Process قرمز in RED

Phase One: Quantitative Review of Works A quantitative review of items such as document deficiencies, non-compliance with intellectual property rights, or failure to meet the condition of the number of projects submitted per participant. Additionally, a preliminary content review, including deviation from the Red scale or non-compliance with the ready-to-build condition.

Phase Two: Selection of Works A combination of architects from outside Iran will evaluate the received and reviewable works and compile a list of selected works. This list includes up to 13 works in the completed projects category and up to 7 works in the ready-to-build projects category.

Phase Three: Presentation and Analysis The selected participants present their works in the presence of analysts and the audience. The presentation time for each work is 10 minutes. The analysts, using diagrams and verbal discussions, thoroughly examine and illuminate the latent potentials in the works.

Exhibition of Works Those interested in architecture and experimental projects can visit the selected works on presentation days.

Red 1 :: 2023
In January 2024, the Contemporary Architects Association, hosted the inaugural “Red Non-Competition” at a national level, aiming to realize its vision and enhance the power of experimentation in architectural design. Ultimately, 20 submissions were selected by renowned international architects. A panel of distinguished Iranian architects analyzed and reviewed these works in front of an audience of 1,500 attendees over two days. Additionally, an exhibition showcasing the 20 selected works, along with installations by the event sponsors, was held alongside the presentation space. Since May 2024, to maintain the continuity and momentum of the Red Non-Competition initiative, the Contemporary Architects Association has launched a series of events titled “Red Table.” These events spotlight the conceptual projects of the selected participants and will continue until the second edition of Red.
